This evening features a solo piano set by renowned pianist, Art Lande and a duo set with guitarist, Bruce Dunlap.

Grammy-nominated Art Lande is considered one of the premiere improvisational jazz pianists today. He has carved out a singular path throughout his career, taking the innovations of Bill Evans several steps further. His many recorded works on ECM and other labels played a significant role in the development of the “chamber jazz” movement. Art’s musical partners have included such greats as Steve Swallow, Jan Garbarek, Bobby Hutcherson, Gary Burton, Woody Shaw, Nat Adderley, Chet Baker, Charlie Haden, Eddie Harris, Joe Henderson, John Abercrombie, Mark Isham, and Paul McCandless among many more.

A guitarist from age three, Bruce Dunlap has developed a unique, pianistic style on nylon string guitar. Dunlap’s "shimmering portraits" (Jazz Times) and “pianistic guitar virtuosity" (Elusive Disc) often evoke the sound of more than one guitar. He draws on jazz, classical and ethnic traditions to create what Jazziz called "a stirring, intellectually satisfying collection of pieces that have the grace and emotional import of fine poetry." Dunlap has performed/recorded with Kenny Werner, Fred Hersch, Howard Levy, Glen Velez, Alan Arkin, Gary Willis, Eddie Daniels, Herbie Mann, Simon Shaheen, Kevin Hayes, Mark Copland, Dave Grusin, and many others.
